That Boro deduction… they had a mass illness, they asked the PL if they could cancel the match against Blackburn, they were told yes, didn’t show up, then got deducted three points.

End of the season, they are relegated by 2 points.

Gets a chuckle from me how a team can enter administration and get less of a point deduction than a team overspending 19.5m.

I wonder how many points will they deduct for Manchester City and will it be over last few seasons or current season and which league will they drop down to ?

Amazing how professional the league already was in 1890 to punish a team for an unregistered player. I thought they would‘ve got some guys from the pub as subs until like 1950.

1890/91 is correct. GK Ned Doig’s 8th game for the club (vs WBA) and somehow wasn’t registered.

Fun fact: He was shy about his baldness, and if his cap fell off during a match, he would collect his cap first, rather than stick to playing the game. He played 400+ appearances

This is a dumbass precedent to set. Now it is either City and Chelsea get relegated or the lesson is if you are going to go over FFP you might as well get your money’s worth and go nuts.
