I have also heard of the following, supposedly just used by MAGA people, but I have heard others use it also. It may be fatigue from Trump fearmongering.

    From wiki.

Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a pejorative term, usually for criticism or negative reactions to former United States president Donald Trump that are perceived to be irrational, and presumed to have little regard towards Trump’s actual policy positions, or actions undertaken by his administration.[1] The term has mainly been used by Trump supporters to discredit criticism of his actions, as a way of reframing the discussion by suggesting that his opponents are incapable of accurately perceiving the world.

They made up TDS because of how reactive they themselves are to the “culture war” nonsense that they’re shovel fed every day 25/7. If they can get so worked up about sexy M&Ms and Nascar banning the confederate flag, they have no position to criticize others for pointing out the blatantly terrible stuff their cult leader says and does.

In other words, its effectively the same thing as their insistence that the election was stolen from them. They are so self absorbed and obsessive that they can’t imagine its possible without the other side cheating. Considering just about every actual case of voter fraud found was Republicans, it’s just more projection.

      Gaslight. Obstruct. Project.

Everything you just said is more or less true, but I think you’re underestimating the complexity of the right wing ideologies and social dynamics. The psychology of a right wing politician or media head is very different from your typical right wing shit poster, or average republican voter, and you should be careful lumping them all in together as a vague “they.”

You aren’t wrong. I didn’t really want to plunge the depths of depravity to really explain or understand it though. The smart fascists and nazis are quite good at manipulating the stupid ones, hence why they work endlessly to misinform and to dismantle education.

They said the exact same inane thing about people criticizing Bush… then spent years actually freaking out about Obama. Hmm.
