QT Marshall is All Elite….again.
Fightful has learned that QT Marshall is returning to All Elite Wrestling, but in a much different capacity. Sources indicated to Fightful that Marshall and AEW worked out their prior issues, and he’ll be coming back in the VP role that he once held. However, he is not planned to return as an in-ring talent.
Those that we spoke to say that an agreement was in place as of a couple of weeks ago. He has not started back with the company as of yet.
We’re told that Marshall is free to wrestle outside of AEW, with the exception of WWE. The 38-year old Marshall hadn’t wrestled since his AEW deal officially ended on December 31 until this past week’s TCW show, but has shown off his physical transformation on Twitter.
Marshall has teamed up with Teil Rhodes to revive Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, which was a creation of Dusty Rhodes. Their first show was February 8 in McDonough, GA and featured former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona as well as Scotty Riggs, Glacier, Aaron Solo and more.
Marshall has not been backstage at AEW as of yet.
Wonder what the issues were. I had figured it was about wanting to wrestle more, but that seems less likely with how he’s come back.
From what had been reported he didn’t like how things were getting more NJPW-like (I guess as opposed to Sports-Entertainment-like), & his desire to be a wrestler.
Given he was out and back in, and didn’t even do anything down in AAA where he had held a title not long ago, I’m assuming he realized:
A) QT Marshall is, despite all apparently reports, not a draw and he got zero actual offers behind a hotdog and a handshake.
B) TK will pay him much more money than the other places will, with a title (cause QT ain’t being VP of fuck-all else but an Arby’s. WWE/TNA/etc aren’t hiring him as head office lol)
