As the title says; What are you really wanting or even exited to see in Cities Skylines 2
I think I’m just ready for the evolution of the series. That being said, I’m really interested to see how the community handles mixed zoning.
@rocker Yeah luckily there has been plenty of time for the first game to really get to the biggest it could possibly be.
I am just getting back in, but more pedestrian based cities would be cool. I want to basically build a city that had roadways mostly underground, so having a lot of tunneling and underground options would be fun.
@ohlaph Yeah having room to try out new types of cities would be really cool to do especially as the first game mainly focused on American Style architecture compared to my more common surroundings of the UK
I’m most happy to see mixed use zoning and smarter pathing.
I’m excited about the new road options - in particular, roads with retaining walls (which will hopefully be nice for e.g. sunken trains), as well as the ability to upgrade roads and have it snap to one side (so freeways can have slip lanes that start on the right, instead of a centered 2-lane turning into a centered 3-lane).
@knexcar Yeah they do seem like a lot of quality-of-life features that are highly welcomed, my partner is trying to work out how she should play out her roads at the moment and is getting so confused because they are centered.
Now. I’m wanting it… now.
I’d prefer a larger and more free city over a lot of the extra detailed systems they are adding.
I don’t really care for micromanaging city services and their socioeconomic effects, I just want a really large and lively city.
Hopefully and probably, mods will come to my rescue.
@Z4rK Yeah when I first played the game I felt as if it could be a great way to relax but I ended up micromanaging every corner of the game making it hard to relax and even just let it play in the background when I’m needing to do something else.
Hopefully they will have options to enable/disable certain bits. I might disable disasters. In CS1, I disabled the day/night cycle, because at night, I found it too dark to build some stuff.
I’m mostly looking forward to the traffic improvements. There have been so many times where I’ve spent ages getting a single intersection to stop being the bottleneck for a massive city.
That and the ‘modular’ services buildings, not having to build 15 police stations seems great.
@DutchSoul Yeah I think those upgrades to the game would be a very helpful thing for the game to feel more realistic as I don’t want to have to build a University every few blocks to get my whole city Education.
