I recently rewatched the last two seasons, and Rick’s tolerance has dropped significantly in these seasons. He’s always been nonchalant but willing to help in the end, so long as he got a clever insult/rant in, but in season 6 & 7 he’s changed a bit. He’s gotten sick of Morty’s doubt in him anytime someone else with authority shows up, like the President with the lightsaber incident, where he straight up just quit and left Morty to deal with situation until it got too out of hand. He blatantly told Summer he trusted her most out of everyone because she reminds him of his wife, instead of insulting her need of his approval/favor over Morty. The way he slaps the shit out of Jerry after he ruined the fortune cookie immortality, albeit pretty innocently, had me laughing. It’s a great bit of character evolution.
