Hi all! I am new to Tucson. I live in midtown with my 85-year-old mom. I was a teacher before I had to stop working to take care of my folks. Mom is doing well and we need extra income so I am looking into substituting. I have my current teaching certificate and clearance card. I see a lot of sub jobs advertised but I am wondering if anyone here has experience in the area. Should I look at the substituting places that work with different schools? I know there is a teacher shortage in most places. Is it true here as well? Are subbing jobs easy to find and available almost every day? What’s the best way to make the most money? Should I just try to get in with TUSD? Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated.
