Huskar’s new facet has been getting a lot of play lately, and I’ve been wondering just how powerful it is. To investigate, I used some formulas with AI assistance to show just how strong his Incendiary spears are compared to regular.
Below are my findings, and some quick analysis.
Here’s a series of charts breaking down the damage values, both with an without the level 25 talent.
One thing I noticed is that, early game, leveling up incendiary (I for short) has diminishing returns. While (I) will obviously always have higher damage than the default (D), it’s worth noting that, when heroes are low max HP, it does over twice the damage of one spear at lvl 1, and only about 40% more at max level. This relationship tells me it may be more worth it to get extra points of his passive instead in the early levels.
The two facets diverge greatly at higher health pools though. Which shouldn’t be surprising in the least. One (I) spear at a 5000 HP target does almost 3x the damage.
Main takeaways: Definitely go incendiary versus tanky drafts, or if you think the game will go late, and if you do, maybe max our your passive first, as the potential damage from the higher attack speed may outweigh the diminishing returns.
