Struggling with understanding this! I’m a girl going through the process of getting diagnosed with autism, and I always hear neurotypical guys go “I want a girl with autism” or “my girl is a bit autistic” but the the girl they’re talking about is just some girl with like slightly silly behavior and maybe a couple interests/fixations here and there. Is it just some internet trend and people say that now?

I can’t speak for these people and I’m probably making a broad generalization based on experiences. But I’m just just not good with social cues and idk what it means when someone says they want someone autistic. But then none of the people they’re with have autism they’re just like slightly nerdy I guess. It makes me feel weird and confused???

I don’t get it! Someone please explain it to me, like I’m not trying to get all mad about people saying it—I really don’t care and I think it can be silly I guess? And I’m trying to take things less literally I just don’t get it lol.
