So just a quick one to see if anyone else diagnosed late can relate. I had always related to a lot of what I heard about autism and at points was wondering if it was something that fit. Most people, even doctors in my life, saying autistic people take everything literally had me dismiss it as an option because…I know it’s not raining cats and dogs, I know someone didn’t literally cry their eyes out, and so on.
It’s quite frustrating to me that it isn’t more commonly said as autistic people have a tendency to take things more literally or that it is what their minds will first interpret.
I’ll be shocked if I’m totally alone but I want to see how things line up.
