Rules

1. Keep things civilized and respectful.

Be a helpful guide to good sauna, not the sauna police. Different people have different resources and cultural knowledge with sauna. An argument in good faith is OK if you remain respectful of others, but insulting or belittling others will earn a ban.

2. Remember that sauna cultures vary across the world.

Some people enter the sauna room with a stopwatch, others with a cold beer. In some places people build saunas one way, some a different way. You don’t necessarily need to understand it, but try to respect it.

3. No spam, including advertisement of goods or services

This includes not just commercial entities, but also self promotional posts by influencers seeking to increase views on their social media channels.

4. No medical advice or misinformation

This is not a place to get specific medical advice for any individual or condition, and it is not a place for sharing misinformation regarding medical benefits to sauna. If you have medical concerns you should consult a doctor, not post to Reddit. The one exception to this rule is linking to peer reviewed research published in a scientific journal. Medical advice other than a recommendation to see a doctor will be removed and posts soliciting medical advice will be locked.

5. When using federated (non-local) groups, follow the content rules of the instance hosting it

This instance is federated, i.e., you should be able to participate with accounts from other instances, and access other instances with your account from here.

Other instances may have other content policies - please make sure you follow them. In the interest of not getting excluded from federation violating their content policies is a bannable offence - even if it’d not violate content policies for our local groups.

6. No NSFW content

This follows the European definition of NSFW. Non sexual nudity, if it is sensible in the context of the discussion, is allowed. Sexualized content, gore or other forms of NSFW are not.
