      I’d say:

      1. Reverse citizens united.
      2. Institute voting reform, abolishing gerrymandering and introducing ranked choice voting.
      3. Enshrine reproductive freedom.
      4. Levy massive wealth taxes to fund social safety nets with an emphasis on Medicare for all.
      5. Heavily tax non-primary residences, dismantle investing in housing for profit.
      6. Thoroughly and completely audit the military budget. Cut waste spending.
      7. UBI

That’s just, like, my personal list, man.

Yeah, it’d be a different list if I was American. Although honestly I’m pretty sure the US government is terminally unable to do any meaningful reforms at this point.

Yeah Canada starts with a massive leg up in that regard. I’d argue wealth tax and housing reform would be necessary to keep UBI from being another source of money for the rich to take from the poor.

      My list:

Abolish copyright, benefits, pensions, and the like to replace them with a universal basic income tied to whichever is higher of the comsumer price index or the retail price index.

Fund the previous with a new diminishing returns tax system that effectively caps the amount individuals can make at £2b, and caps revenue of businesses at £10b.

Try to rejoin the EU, if they’re willing to.

Lower the voting age to 16.

Abolish constinuency first-pass-the-post voting for national voting to replace it with ranked choice popular voting.

Ban non-medically necessary mutilation of minors under the age of 13, and non-consenting citizens above that age.

“Mutilation of minors” is an emotional term and not a legal or scientific one, if you mean gender transition or circumcision just say it. And I’m pretty sure nonconsentual “mutilation” of any adult is already illegal.

          He’s probably talking about circumcision.

When applied to females, it’s called Female Genital Mutilation.

When applied to males, it’s just called circumcision.

Both are barbaric and unnecessary practices to conduct routinely without a direct medical need.

Fun facts: Egypt still mutilates their girls. Americans mutilate their boys because their dads don’t want to admit something is wrong with their penises, so they fuck up their sons’ too.

Probably, but people who are against gender affirming surgeries would also use the term mutilation, so it can be a bit of a vague term

That’s what happens when you try to use emotional language instead of specifics.

Yeah, “mutilation” is pretty charged. Maybe just “modification”, which would include gender affirming types, even the ones for intersex people that bigots will ask for.

Fucking Amen. I can’t believe, especially non-religious people, still commit this barbaric and unnecessary act. But some people are still under the quaker influenced thinking that circumcision means cleaner, both my mother in law and my step mother think it’s “gross” to leave a child uncircumcised, with my mother in law going as far as to say “it just looks bad”.

Cool, she basically admitted she’s down to mutilate babies to satisfy a completely unreasonable aesthetic preference.

Well, there’s other varieties of male GM as well, although you hear less about them. For example, slicing it open lengthwise, either fully or just to “unroll” it.

There is a definite double standard for the one kind of GM white people do. It’s all bad before a child can consent, and some of the female forms are pretty comparable to circumcision, so maybe we can “get off our high horse”.
