Who’d have thought BoredApe NFTs would be such an actual eyesore?

Something physically existing or not is not what makes a status symbol. Are you implying something about energy consumption of blockchains? The network these are on (ethereum) no longer uses PoW mining, so the energy argument does not work here.

Yeah but you need an ape to get in. I don’t even know why you are arguing. There are non physical status symbols people use all the time. That’s literally what nft’s are, status symbols. Or at least were during their hayday.

You don’t need an ape to get in lmao, you just get free admission if you do have one. And we’re arguing because you’re trying to defend the nonsensical position that “status symbols don’t have to have physical worth/existence”, and then trying to back that position with bored ape NFTs, which are recognized as worthless outside of the crypto world, and even by some inside the crypto world.

If you actually look at the site for this event, apes get in for free. So you’re actually wrong on that.
