Hi everyone,

I’m facing a frustrating issue with my network setup, and I’m hoping to get some guidance here. My network configuration is relatively simple: Modem -> OPNsense Firewall -> 5-Port Switch without VLAN functionality -> Clients. Everything used to work flawlessly until recently.

The problem I’m encountering is that while I can ping the OPNsense Firewall, I can’t access its web interface anymore, and there’s no internet connectivity or DHCP functionality either. Strangely, the ports on both the OPNsense Firewall and the switch are showing activity (blinking). However, when I connect a client directly to the OPNsense Firewall (bypassing the switch), everything works perfectly fine.

I’ve even tried using a different switch, but the issue persists. This problem is driving me crazy, and I’m at my wit’s end trying to troubleshoot it.

Any suggestions or insights on what might be causing this issue and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you tried powering everything off, waiting for 30 seconds, the starting with the modem, power it back on and allow it to fully boot. Then power on the firewall and allow it to fully boot, then the switch. Check if you have internet again.

If it still doesn’t work, check your settings(DHCP, firewall… etc.) to make sure nothing has changed.
