These guys went to a great length to criticize arteta and protect PGMol. But when Manchester United got decisions against them, they are suddenly against var and referees? And United got robbed somehow? Where was that energy with arteta?
This is why Var and referees won’t improve that much. They didn’t care about it when it happened to rivals. But once it happened to them, suddenly the world is against them.
The criticism I saw was related to: his meltdown, the arsenal club statement, and the believed hypocrisy from what Arteta had said before when it happened to Liverpool.
No, it’s just a different situation.
Ten Hag didn’t have a meltdown. Man Utd haven’t released a statement. And ten hag didn’t say the opposite when it happened to Liverpool.
You need to actually look at the context here. They are different situations which is why they are viewed differently.
They did though. Almost every single person agreed with arsenal. But then Arteta went and had a meltdown, viewed as a hypocrite, and the club released a statement so people just focused on how much of a joke that was. If they hadn’t done that everyone would have supported them, because it was almost unanimously agreed to be wrong decisions.
And even after they did all that, whenever discussions were actually about the decisions almost everyone was on Arsenals side.
This post just feels like you’ve convinced yourself that arsenal are victims and you are trying to fit everything into that view rather than looking at what’s happening.
Lmfao the club did not mention anything 1 hour after the game so what exactly were the pundits mad over that??? Stop waffling and spreading lies
The ‘rant’ happened less than an hour after the match. So you’re saying you ‘agreed’ with Arsenal immediately after the match, when the injustices re the decisions hadn’t actually been highlighted yet? What were you ‘agreeing’ with exactly? If you ‘agreed’ with Arsenal, neither the rant nor the statement should have changed your stance on that as the ‘rant’ essentially said they were the wrong decisions, and the statement was released to back the manager. The ‘hypocrisy’ you’re talking about came from an out of context quote, said on a different day, in a different interview, days after the Liverpool game when Arteta was asked about the precedent it would set it refs are banned from officiating certain teams games. You don’t think it’s too much of a coincidence that an out of context quote began circulating the media immediately after, at the same time talking heads from the same broadcast company released identical statements?
During the match everyone was talking about how shit the decisions were. In the after match thread, before the comments from Arteta, everyone was talking about how shit the decisions were…
Agreeing with the fans who were saying it was unfair. Agreeing with the players who obviously thought it was the wrong decision. Taking their side. Thinking they were on the end of a bad call.
You are going for a gotcha on a technicality or slightly wrong wording used instead of discussing the point in good faith. You clearly know what was meant. Stop being disingenuous.
I agree with Arsenal regarding the decisions being wrong, as does almost everyone. No one changed their opinion on that, so I’m not sure why you are trying to claim that they did.
I disagree with Arteta having a meltdown and I disagree with arsenal putting out a statement, and I disagree with Arteta changing his tune. As do the majority seemingly.
None of this changes the fact that the decisions were wrong. And no one turned around and changed their mind about the decisions once arsenal and Arteta made fools of themselves. That’s just made up by people wanting to be a victim.
That’s why I said believed hypocrisy. Because it was a while until the full quote came out. But even with the full quote you can argue that he isn’t exactly being consistent.
It’s for clicks and money, like it always is. Again, nothing to do with arsenal specifically. Quotes and other things are taken out of context all the time for headlines and talking points. It probably happens more than in context stuff.
Man Utd are talked about and have articles written about them far more than any other team, and it’s always ignoring important context. Unfortunately that’s just the way it is. It isn’t a coincidence though.
Arteta stood by his team.
If you don’t agree with something you should say so.
People are saying he had a “meltdown” he was pissed off.
Arteta had to make a point, so that the club would make a statement, so that PGMOL would take it seriously and it would contribute to the issues raised by Liverpool last month.
If you want change than you have to be willing to initiate that change. Change doesn’t happen by sitting on your ass and feeling sorry for yourself.
Manager comes in and has passion for the club and you lot just can’t stand that. G A F what you think about his and the clubs statements, we back both. We are SICK of fans of other clubs spouting shit about having meltdowns etc when we have a right to be pissed off.
