Certainly think Kante was doing the heavy lifting, but you don’t play midfield for a side that wins the Premier League if only one guy is doing everything. Give him a tiny bit of credit at least
I feel like this argument holds true for every player in history except for Kante. Genuinely think Leicester would have won the league with any upper-mid table deep lying midfielder who was having a consistent season.
Sidwell to Chelsea, Parker to Chelsea, Barkley to Chelsea, Wright-Phillips to Chelsea…
I know the homegrown player quota is vital for some teams to actually have any homegrown players at all in their squad, but Chelsea (and City with Rodwell & Phillips) have stagnated a fair few careers with it.
Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea for £35 million
At the time that didn’t seem like a terrible buy
Yeah to be fair he looked good for Leicester in the midfield with Kante. Now we know it was ALL Kante
Drinkwater was absolutely phenomenal for leicester that season and anyone discounting that wasn’t watching em Play at all.

I always looked at it as a package deal price with kante. And even if you combine both transfer fees it’s still a good deal for kante alone.
