I will start by saying, I’m a complete amateur when it comes to this sort of thing but I need some help. (In the uk) We have a home office under construction in our garden. It’s about 55 metres from our main house. How do I get an internet connection in the building? The building will have power, and it’s on fuse box. Our wifi is awful, and even going upstairs in our house gives a poor connection.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. TIA!

The best would be to run a fiber cable between the house and the home office, with media converters on either end, and then you wire the house end to your router. If you have contractors already doing work on building the office, maybe installing the cabling could be added on to the existing project?

Alernately, 55m is not a terribly long distance, so a wifi bridge would also work - assuming you have clear line of sight between the house and the new office.
