This is why a little competition in the team for a spot in the starting lineup is always a good idea. Tomiyasu had shut Zinny out of the team due to a great streak of games he’d been on, forcing Zinchenko to really perform if he wants his spot back. It’s too small-minded to think that all we need from transfer windows are backups to the players who already feature in our starting XI.

Zinny dominated his role today.Obviously our best LB player to play with the inverted roles. In todays type of game his role was vital especially when we didnt even have Ode.

Obviously against other types of opposition, say vs Liverpool, Might be better off starting Tomi in there to stop Salah. Pretty much we are blessed with players for game specific moments.

I think he needs to get better when getting pressed facing big teams, he overthinks a bit sometimes and get caught, we have a player in there but I assume when he was at City he probably only starts when playing against much weaker opponents where he is allowed to think and create, so there will be an adjustment curve.

Imagine timber coming in and sunny being able to cover for Odegaard in games as well, he’s more creative than kai or esr

My least favorite player - when he is bad, he really lets the team down. But yesterday he was exceptional. But I’m waiting for Timber to come back to put Zinny back on the bench.

He’s rarely average, he’s either world class or causes utter havoc in our defense by pushing up because Gabriel can’t cover the whole left side sometimes.

I’m going to tag on this comment to say, (maybe it’s the hair) but I kind of feel like he plugged in the hole left by Odegaard really nicely this game. It’s so good to see.

I think our performance yesterday is top 3 of the season GIVEN how many first teamers we are missing.

This is the game that shows me the team and the whole squad has really improved over last year.

And we haven’t even had our dynamite of a new signing Timber with us.

I think this style of play will give us more consistent results. Blitzing opponents from the first minute is very difficult to sustain and inconsistent. With a few injuries, you also get fucked. But with this style of play, it’s easier for guys to plug in from the bench. And it’s less tiring overall.

Last season we played klopp ball. This season we’re playing pep ball.

I love to see arteta adapt, because god knows some managers are stubborn assholes.

He did get rinsed that one time that generated a good chance for them but that isn’t counted in these numbers.

He’s our Trent, if we’re dominating he’s one of our best players if we’re on the back doors he’s one of our worst. Double edged sword

I have said it before, he gets tons of stick for being poor defensively because he is just amazing everywhere else.
