Yesterday the candidate for the argetinian presidency Javier Milei implied that he wanted a english league based on anonymous societies. Most clubs in Argentina were funded as fan clubs and have it in their own constitucion like that, but they fear that things like the end of anonymous society in Spain or what happened to Racing might happen to every team, so today most clubs presented comunicados oficiales against this.

Nice of the teams to speak up. Privatisation has pros and cons and doesn’t solve anything by itself. Whether public or private, Argentinian football will only become stronger again once their league is sorted out and stabilizes. No more promedios, inflated calendars, weird rulings. What makes a league grow is a clear and stable structure, and a system that rewards clubs that are professionally run. This is what happened in Brazil when the current format for our league was established in 2003, and we are reaping the long term benefits of that.

People may talk about many bad things in Brasilian football, but the sheer stability over the last 20 years speaks for itself.

Same rules for the main competition, mostly drama free from out of field rulings goes a long way to give credibility and make the league attractive.

It’s the most basic stuff but it works.
