If I were to just type that United are playing badly some United lifelong supporter is going to barge in whose father was a United fan, whose grandfather was a United fan, whose great grandfather was a United fan and tell you that the stats show that Ten Hag has scored more points than SAF or Klopp or Mourinho or whoever. When I see such people and there are millions of them worldwide and especially in the UK I automatically wonder if you have to be low IQ to be a football fan. You don’t need stats to tell you that United are terrible. If you have eyes you can see that they are scrapping through and not heading in the right direction. On the other hand if you can understand football you could have figured out that Chelsea on the other hand for all their defeats are headed in the right direction. They might be down in the points table but there is a plan that is slowly working at Chelsea. If you just give it time they will be in the reckoning sooner or later. How is something as basic as this not evident to people.

Stats should be put into context. United & Liverpool were average teams when Fergie & Klopp took over so Haag having a better winning record at the start is unremarkable.

But it also means that he’s done a better job than Mourinho, Moyes, Van Gaal, Ole so far. United fans should just calm down & give him time. It’s not like they have Guardiola waiting in the wings to take over.

Mourinho did more than any other manager could since Fergie left. He had less resources than Ten Hag, Paul Pogba on his back, and the media pressuring him. He was the best manager since Fergie.

And the media isn’t pressuring Ten Hag?
He’s facing the same issues Mourinho faced: lack of structure in the club, a giant spotlight over him, awful refereeing decisions, + an absurd ammount of injuries at the start of this season

he’s done a better job than Mourinho, Moyes, Van Gaal, Ole so far.

Not really he didn’t. At the end what he accomplished was finishing top 4 and winning a domestic cup. Bar Moyes, all of these managers finished top 4 and all but one won domestic trophies (plus one European trophy), with Ole losing on EL via PKs. Ten Hag has really done nothing more than them. He only had one more point than LVG and Mourinho in his 50 games in the league, so ? That’s basically the same.

Not to mention, he wasn’t really hired to be better than Ole. He was hired to rebuild the club, play better football and get results. He hasn’t achieved any of these.

And let’s imagine he was hired to be better than Mourinho and Ole, both of them finished 2nd in their 2nd full season after 2 transfer markets. Will Ten Hag manage to get 2nd spot or even top it in his 2nd full season, the current one ?
