Tbh I do not think a red would be fair but this is the whole issue I have with the game more than anything var is doing. If it was a Brentford player making that foul he would be given a red, the media would say he was inexperienced and move on with no complaints. if it wasn’t given as a red obviously being a bigger fanbase and the media constantly wanting to talk about them it would get mentioned a lot and the words pgmol and apology would be said. But because it’s the other way around it was not even shown on motd as a possible talking point, like this game has got soo rotten with its hypocrisy it’s just becoming hard to even care.
This is such a strange post. So you don’t think it should’ve been a red, but you’re mad it wasn’t a red because you think it would’ve been a red with the roles reversed? So with all the officiating errors and issues every week, the thing that’s bothering you is the red card that wasn’t brandished for a tackle you also don’t think is a red? As others have pointed out, Liverpool have had 4 reds this year, and of them, there was debate on whether Jones deserved his, the independent panel said Jota’s 2 yellows were wrong, Virgil’s was suspect because Isak didn’t have control of the ball and wasn’t moving straight at goal (see Pascal Groß getting away with no card at all for a more egregious tackle on Szoboszlai 3 yards from a basically open goal), and MacAllister’s was rescinded for being flat out incorrect. Add to that Paul Tierney’s proven bias against Liverpool, and I think you’re left with a whole lot of nothing to support your argument. It wasn’t a red and wouldn’t have been for anyone. Let it go.
You are soo blinded by what the media want you all to focus on I think given var and where the game is now it’s a red unfortunate but a red and I know if it was the other way round it’s a red and the media would treat it soo differently damm we are killing this game
