Positioning. He is really good at receiving the ball, pulling the players away and being adaptable in terms of where he is.
Passing. Long balls, crosses, sharp through balls and creative tricks. He is great
Composure. Significantly less wasteful than an average Chelsea player, good pens on top (not a big deal).
Mentality. Seems hard-working and positive
Spatial awareness and an ability to transition. A lot of his movement and passing carries City DNA, well-drilled to break down the elusive low blocks. When he came on against some relegation shitters (forgot who) and he started transitioning sideways, pulling people away before passing and doing other advanced stuff under pressure, I instantly saw the glimpses of Pep smiling like he is the sun from teletubbies.
Palmer is a good player and a good transfer. He doesn’t need to be world class to be called good.
