    Unpopular opinion but we definitely missed Song more than RVP in the following seasons. We replaced RVPs goals across the team, but nobody could anchor the midfield like Song did until Coquelin matured (and even then he relied heavily on Santi).

      I remember when he left, I was thinking, “I’m sure Frimpong can come in to replace him” because he’d been doing great in the youth squad and played well in a pre-season friendly. How very, very wrong I was.

      It’s unpopular bc it’s not true. Song was an underwhelming DM. There’s a reason he was never alone but part of a pivot. People waxing poetic about his assists but neglecting how weak he was defensively.

      We probably win a trophy if rvp stayed. Our midfield was suspect before and after song left

      Not true, song was great and important but RVP in those 2 last years dragged us into a decent team, he was simply the best striker in the world… “unpopular opinion” doesn’t mean it’s true
