There are often tackles made that are referred to as “Orange card tackles” in that they are too soft for a red, but too hard for a yellow. As it is, having only two forms of punishment (technically three if you could two yellow cards only meaning you get suspended from one game, not three, but that doesn’t apply to single tackles) might be a bad idea.

Could we implement an actual Orange card? I have a few ideas for this and want to see if somebody could come up with something better:

  1. Forced off the pitch but not facing a suspension for the next match (basically a weaker double yellow) another yellow acts like a a straight red

  2. Not kicked off the pitch, but facing a suspension for the next match another yellow acts like a straight red

  3. Forced off the pitch and facing a one match suspension that doesn’t have to be served in the next match (anytime before the end of that season, or in a certain time period)

4.The last one but you have to serve the suspension the next match (slightly more harsh)

  1. a warning like a yellow, but if you commit one more foul you are given another orange and sent off the pitch for a three match ban

Ideas?

I like this idea. I’ve have a similar idea where there’s a range of cards from white ( did nothing wrong awarded free kick) through cream (stern look by ref) to lemon (like a regular yellow but two of them don’t act as a red) regular yellow (you all know) orange (as above would be fine) red (you all know) Black card ( sent off, no pay for game, fined by club, not allowed on bus, no canteen for a month, slapped in the tits by co-worker, have to shake hands with all fans for a week, all your goals for the next month awarded to a defender of managers choice)
