If you consider Ronaldo and Messi wingers, peak Hazard (at Chelsea) was third best, behind them also in their prime. That’s not a delusional take. That’s why Real paid an absolute ransom for Hazard. So maybe that’s where your friend is going with this? Comparing players outside of their position usually means you don’t watch football.

Also, I don’t know what Bale some of these people in the comments were watching at Real? He scored a few brilliant goals in major fixtures but his inconsistency was as legendary as his golf retreats.

Attacking players? Maybe, I always felt that Ronaldo carried the attack of Madrid, especially during the 3 peat. As for players in general I would disagree. Ramos, Modric and Kroos were all better than Hazard in my opinion.

I think this is an absurd take. If you put Ramos, Modrtic or Kroos on those chelsea teams and take away Hazard they all get considerably worse. There is a near zero percent chance any of them could carry a team like prime Hazard.

You are only saying that because they won a bunch of champions leagues and doing an absolutely massive deservice to prime hazard

As a spurs fan if you put prime Ramos, Modric and Kroos in that mid 2010s Chelsea team then they would most likely be pushing for a treble or quadruple

Individually he was, people focus too much on UCL titles and don’t look Individual games

All those Madrid players would’ve performed worse than Hazard at Madrid bar CR7.

What is a three peat? Are we talking about the peat found in bogs? How is that related to football?

He is correct. Hazard was probably 3rd beat player in the world after Messi and Ronaldo during that period in my opinion. Modric close but Hazard beats him for me

Chelsea hazard was bossing the prem, which is not all too hard to do. Coutinho did it too. Both of these players were considered amazing in the prem but couldn’t cut it in La liga. Bale is similar, world class in the prem but in the la liga he was good, but nothing incredible.

Basically, you cannot compare la liga players to prem players. But someone like Toni kross at 30 into an average prem team and they might win the league.

I mean ur friend can say whatever he wants and there’s really no way to compare each player individually. Ramos is one of the all time best defenders but how can we compare him with eden hazard, a winger. Even bale to hazard (winger vs winger) is a near impossible comparison because of how different they are. Your friend definitely isn’t right but they also can’t really be proven completely wrong either?? Idk hahah all of my friends are delusional and I love them to death
