I am having issues setting xmp profile with i7-12700k and gigabyte z690UD DDR4.
Memory modules:
https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/184/1620973669/F4-4000C14D-16GVK-Specification
Once in BIOS i set the profile to only available, i guess its automatic which corresponds to the specs on the link, as i7 can go up to 3200MTS, set the memory clock mp to 32…
And the result is no boot black screen, have to reset BIOS.
Am I missing something here?
Probably got unlucky with the memory controller.
You do have to remember that officially it only supports upto 3200 on DDR4, yet you are pushing it with a very high end kit of 4000, heck on CL14 too, thats very taxing on the memory controller.
Honestly, just dial it back down to 3600 or if you are extremely unlucky, back to 3200. To do that, enable XMP, then go to your ram speed section and it should give you a drop down menu, then just select 3200.
And dont repeat this stupid purchase in the future, 3600CL14 is 1/3 the price of the kit you got.
