Well, to play devil’s advocate, Drogba scored. And Bergkamp assisted so many that his tally is still high up in the stats. Jesus has a long way to go.

Jesus is 34 goals off drogba in the PL and he’s scored far more than drogba ever did in the CL, in less time.

Not sure he will reach drogba’s PL tally but he’ll end up somewhere super close

Are we actually comparing Drogba to Jesus here…good lord.

Or are you just another token American basing your opinions on statistics?!

You’ve just proven Gabriel’s and OPs point lmao.

It’s actually nuts he’s only 30 odd goals away from Drogba considering he’s 26. Also largely played as a winger or second fiddle to Ageuro at City for most of his career in the prem.

Guessing Firmino must’ve been trash to you because he didn’t score goals?

      In the Premier League:
      Drogba - 254 games, 17549 minutes, 104 goals, 55 assists, 0.53 g/90, 0.79 non pen g+a/90
      Jesus - 192 games, 11752 minutes, 70 goals, 35 assists, 0.54 g/90, 0.77 non pen g+a/90

      In the Champions League:
      Drogba - 93 games, 7293 minutes, 44 goals, 13 assists, 0.54 g/90 0.68 non pen g+a/90
      Jesus - 41 games, 2445 minutes, 23 goals, 5 assists, 0.85 g/90, 0.96 non pen g+a/90

So yeah, the whole devil’s advocate with Drogba thing is pure nonsense.

Drogba was always (or tried to be) paired with a prolific striker though - Shevchenko, Torres. And maybe Mourinho’s game just needed a pitbull who played with his back to goal and scored in key moments, as they had lots of 1-0s and 2-1s. Wish we still had Giroud - he was somewhat like Drogba, but with silkier link up play, aged like fine wine too.

I digress - my point being - Arsenal need a prolific striker. Just take a punt on someone who wants to score every game (Nketiah probably is the closest for us with that attitude), but with actual skill to do it.

Jesus is one of the CL’s best goal scorers. He hasn’t got as far to go as you think
