Bayern are basically state funded and have a very, very incestuous relationship with both the german FA and global purveyor of sweat shop and slave labour produced garments adidas (I know we use them too but we’ve not had protests against less shady sponsors like them), Red Bull Leipzig exist, the 50 + 1 doesn’t apply to Bayer (clue is in the name) Leverkusen, Wolfsburg (Volkswagen) and they changed the rules to allow Hoffenheim so it’s not even that much of a holy grail.

I admire their commitment to keeping prices low but when you can’t even acknolwedge that a certain team is obvioulsy getting round the financial restrictions this gives the rest of the league it’s pretty much just self inflicted stupidity.

You could see with the way their execs were talking about the Qatar airways sponsorship they didn’t see a problem taking not so ‘clean’ money, they only ended the partnership through fan pressure not for some moral reason. Bayern is in the top 5 clubs in the world in terms of revenue generated while there is no other Bundesliga team even close to them they are playing their own game with a different level of money to any of their competition.

It’s exactly that, self inflicted stupidity the only way for parity in Bundesliga is if they open themselves to outside investment but the fans have seemingly no interest in winning based on the way they suck off Bayern.

That’s my point, the fans put pressure on the obvious ‘arab oil state bad’ but do you see them having issues with three of their sponsors (Allianz, Audi and Adidas) owning 25% of the club while Adidas is using slave labour from Uyghur camps?

Have they demanded their president put pressure on Adidas?

Probably not since the current president of Bayern is the ex CEO of …Adidas

You see them protesting state owned, state backed clubs but I’m just going to leave the link ti the allianz arena here because honestly the bullet points of dodginess and state help would take too long. Suffice to say it’s a bit fucking hypocritical.

I think the problem with them changing the system is that they’d have to admit that the system has been gamed by Bayern and that wouldn’t look good…
