I’m currently in Japan with my uncle and we have no plans for Friday night. I used to play a game on my Sega Saturn called Victory Goal and my favorite team was always Yokohama Marinos. They have a match that night and the tickets aren’t bad prices. Do you think it would be worth it to go to the match? Thanks for the help guys!

I’m originally from Kyoto, so I used to go to Sanga games all the time. It’s always a great atmosphere, people are friendly, and it’s safe. I can only compare it to the UK, but it’s definitely more family friendly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything close to a fight breaking out (not saying there aren’t). Also a lot less abuse shouted at the players/ref, people are much more respectful.

I’m sure it happens every once in a while, but Japanese people don’t really fight like that. And nobody wants to go to Japanese jail.

I got a Kyoto Purple Sanga shirt as a gift from a mate who did exchange there when I was 20, absolutely awesome. Worn with pride many times!
