Of top tier/high prestige competition, including both club and international football, which tournament has the fairest refereeing throughout the years? The UCL? World Cup? Euros? One of the top domestic European leagues? Factors include quality of referees and decisions, good VAR usage, least corruption etc.

I find bundesliga the best. Their decisions have more consistency than any other league. Also the use of var is significantly lesser compared to the pl since the referees get most decisions right to begin with

For me that’s a widespread myth. I think it’s because people really don’t watch the Bundesliga on a regular basis

A myth can be true. I watch a lot of Bundesliga, but rarely other big domestic leauges to compare. Compared to national teams, CL, EL, Conference Leauge and lesser domestic leauges, however, my opinion is that Bundesliga has very good refereeing (and VAR usage).

An important reason is some of the referees ability to speak to the players and understanding the game.

That said, it’s not black and white. There are both good and not so good referees in the Bundesliga.

    Bundesliga is the best.

La Liga is the absolute worst, to the point that most La Liga games are unwatchable because of the Spanish referees.

CL is pretty good. Nations League is good. Bundesliga has a shout.

The WC is like a metronome. Swings from very good to very bad. Sometimes great, because the refereeing itself is good and uses tech well. But it also has a pretty deep history of corruption.

    The UCL? World Cup? Euros?

I find these competitions actually have worse standards than many of the domestic leagues. Especially the World Cup, where they insist on having referees from all over the world, so you end up with corrupt and astonishingly incompetent refs from countries that barely have a professional football system

    US Major League Baseball.

By far the highest standard. Every call documented via Slo-Mo and almost every call proven correct.

I honestly believe the Premier league, which is quite sad when you consider all the shit lately.

I’m surprised how many people take the Bundesliga as their answer. How many really watch this league on a regular basis, especially in the big games the refs and the VAR perform on a surprisingly low level

do you watch any other leagues? yes there are some mistakes, but it’s way better than the premier league for example.
