“Ederson, Nathan Ake, Sergio Gomez, Rodri, and Erling Haaland were all back in ManCity training today after respective injury/fitness issues.”

Did anyone not see this coming? Seems it’s a regular occurrence where City players will say they are “injured” to miraculously recover in a week after getting to fly back early.

It’s not just City mate, many clubs do this, I suspect we did it with Colwill.

Until they fix this ridiculous international break every month for 2 weeks nonsense it’s gonna keep happening.

Just play the internationals in a block in October and that be it.

Just play them at the end of the season in like a month block and push all the games up to finish sooner

You’d disadvantage smaller nations if their star player was injured for the block, and also not all the European leagues have the same August/September to May/June running window so again the smaller countries get screwed.

Smaller? Even Spain Italy germany struggle with injuries in certain positions. Only France and England can just call up replacements of similar quality across the board.

I’d watch a tournament style qualification month, especially if it means fewer international breaks.

This would honestly work much better, plus the quality of international football could actually increase in such setup. The team gets more time to gel, more trainings together and a better preparations opportunity.

        The idea makes perfect sense.

Doesn’t allow for National managers to test out new players and for players to break into the national team from club form though. National managers require regular contact with their squads so they can shape them as major competitions come up. How regular that should be is up for debate though

Gusto was a mad one too, said there was a small MCL tear in his knee and he was back training a couple of days later
