So, since 2023 is nearing its end, wanted to share my opinion regarding who were the best all year, starting today with coaches.
10: Edin Terzic
9: Mikel Arteta
8: Marco Rose
7: Eddie Howe
6: Luciano Spalletti
5: Carlo Ancelotti
4: Xabi Alonso
3: Unai Emery
2: Simone Inzaghi
1: Pep Guardiola
Honorable mentions include: Roberto de Zerbi, Stefano Pioli, Massimiliano Allegri, Diego Simeone, Maurizio Sarri & Michel.
Who would you include in your top 10 list?
Edin Terzic is GARBAGE, what is this list 😭 Inzaghi at #2!!! Where is Klopp?
Simone Inzaghi is non negotiable for me, won titles, almost won the UCL against Manchester City, all that with a squad containing overage and players we thought are finished for good. And today he made Inter arguably the best team in Italy and a European giant.
Check the comments at why Edin Terzic is there and Jurgen Klopp is not, won’t like to be repetitive, lol
Lol the disrespect to Klopp
Where’s spurs’ manager?
No Xavi. But you have Eddie Howe and Arteta, even Terzic who bottled the German league. In your honourable mentions you even have Sarri.
Xavi has achieved more in management in 2023 than most of your top 10 list has in their entire careers.
Also no Klopp. Not even an honourable mention, but you have marco fucking rose.
Pathetic list
No Ange too
I already explained why I put Edin Terzic and Marco Rose in the list in another comment.
Eddie Howe, 4th placed finish with a squad like his is an achievement, could’ve done better this season though.
Mikel Arteta was literally in the fight for Premier League, yet his tactics and mentality are questionable, that’s why I placed him 9th.
Maurizio Sarri finished in the top 4 of Serie A, something unthinkable by Lazio standards, and that would be the case whether Juventus got punished or not.
Nothing against Xavi, he won the league, I just think he’s not good enough, a team at his disposal could’ve done MUCH better.
I already explained many times why Klopp isn’t there, and surprisingly no one told me anything about Erik ten Hag yet 😁
So let me understand this, Eddie Howe with an unlimited budget finished 4th and he’s ahead of xavi somehow.
Arteta bottled the league. Mentally collapsed.
Sarri finishes 4th.
Xavi wins the league with one of the best defensive records of all time across 100 years of European football and he’s not even an honourable mention, despite spending almost nothing and having a squad with the average age of 22.
You’re just an idiot I’m sorry, my guess is you support Madrid or United
I neither support Madrid or United 😁
Unlimited budget? Newcastle by far are the least spending team under money takeover as of this moment, sure they bought a lot of players, but most of them were mid players, and let’s not forget there were lots of injuries in the past season and that didn’t hinder their progress.
Agreeing with Arsenal mentally collapsing.
Sarri finished 4th, with Lazio, isn’t that good enough?
And let’s not forget Xavi got eliminated from the UCL, UEL, Copa del Rey, and this season he’s facing tougher competition and despite having technically the same strong team, the team is still making unnecessary slips. Again, any good manager with Barcelona’s squad would’ve done more, and even some Barcelona fans would agree with that.
And I don’t care if that makes me an idiot to you, I won’t change my words 😌
Lol are you saying that barca dont also have a huge budget and unlimited pull? I was surprised how easily united could dispatch you last season and ETH is nowhere near this top 10 list
Finishing second in the premier league is much more difficult than winning La liga, especially considering you’re contending with literal cheats
Arteta should be higher, I agree Howe shouldn’t be on the list
Literal cheats? Elaborate
City, Chelsea, prob Newcastle…?
Xavi definitely deserves to be here. He comfortably won the League with a very young and inexperienced Barca squad. Dominated and won the Spanish Supercup against Madrid. Barca had one of the best defensive records ever.
At the same time, he got eliminated from UCL, UEL, Copa del Rey, and no improvement in his second season.
Fairly enough, if Frenkie de Jong wasn’t in this squad, Barcelona would’ve been in a bigger crisis, and a better manager would’ve done more with this squad, because they aren’t exactly bad or inexperienced.
The Barça team wasn’t inexperienced?
True, but remember Barca had an injury crisis last season, and has had the same this season too. Surely that’s not an excuse since injuries are part of the game, but he was still decent. Definitely deserves a mention in the top ten or at least the honorable mentions IMHO.
I’m not saying he is a bad manager all in all, but every name I mentioned did more notable things, whether in terms of results or something too good to be noticed.
I know it may sound unfair to discredit his La Liga win, I’m not, just thinking they could’ve done better.
Pep Guardiola, no fucking way
How much is Terzic paying you?
Pioli being in this list genuinely breaks it in half.
Only an honorable mention, he did well sometimes, but certainly had his questionable moments.
People will probably disagree but I would put Ten Hag in the honourable mentions. People forget how well he did last season with a club in such turmoil. He got champions league football. He got to 2 finals winning 1 one of them. He even managed to get past Barcelona over 2 legs. Also people are exaggerating how bad man utd are this season. They are 6th in the table. Not too far points wise from the champions league spots.
I liked him during Ajax days, and was thinking he would clean up Manchester United, but instead I saw a coach with double standards, someone who is too biased for his tactics rather than improving the individual power of his players, and the way he handles backstage drama is really sick.
I would say, this team without in-form Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes, they are really toothless.
And I stopped taking him seriously after conceding 7 against Liverpool, where his tactics and every flaw of this team got exposed again, and this time he didn’t show any disciplinary action to fix the issues, which still exist today.
Given all the drama surrounding the club and the owner situation. I think any coach would struggle at man utd. They had two players who were facing charges of domestic abuse. Then there was the ronaldo and sancho situations. All this drama probably tanks team morale. Also the owners not giving ten hag what he needs to succeed.
But like I said before despite all this ten hag is still managing to keep them competitive and win trophies. Conceding 7 against any team is always gonna suck especially when it’s your biggest rival. But when we look at who did better over a 38 game season I don’t think it matters in the long run.
Emerys had a decent start at villa and everyone out here like man’s won the champions league with Luton town.
I’m not, but his impact for Aston Villa is really big, and it’s showing.
Come back to me when they’ve won something. Moyse has done a better job at West ham all things considered, your lists dumb.
Probably the worst list ever
There’s no best or worst list when it comes to different opinions and metrics
