Been thinking for years African teams would do better at the World Cup but they always seem to underperform….Japan is not only rapidly improving but the massive investment in grassroots football has resulted in world class academies that are now producing top quality players at a consistent rate, having a look at the upward trajectory of the increasing technical quality of Japan and I can see them being genuine World Cup contenders within the next 10 to 15 years….
