So I hear that the S23 FE or any of the FE models are for the fans. What does that mean? I always figuered the FE model was an affordable way to get a form of an S Series albeit at a lower spec level. Can someone explain what exactly is a fan? I’m a fan of Samsung but have an S22 Ultra and go for models like that then you have other fans who are happy with an A54.

I believe they dropped the fan edition label and now FE is just FE. The differences vary from model to model but they were meant to listen to the fans. Like, s20 is great but I want a bigger screen and less ram for less money. Got to check them spec by spec

So listen to the fans for making a cheaper phone but trying to make the performance balanced? Kind of like your example of a bigger screen but less ram, so use an older chipset? Keeps the price lower while making balanced performance

S20fe had same chipset, but yes same idea. They aren’t intended to really “budget” in the usual sense as (at least on the s20) it was more functional in some ways. Make a cheaper model that focuses on what people like/need and cut corners on stuff they don’t find useful. My dream would be an ultra with trash cameras and same specs otherwise. I’m not sure if that is current philosophy because I’ve read the s23fe was a miss. I would say look up past models to see the differences.
