Honestly first thing I would do is releasing overpriced players like Antony.
Firstly, sign a few solid players who give 100% effort even when it’s not going well, and give you 7/10 performances every week, even if they almost never have 10/10 quality matches.
That’s the reason that when it rains it pours for United in the last few seasons. In the first half of the 7-0 against Liverpool, United were completely in the game, and unlucky to be behind at all. After the second goal went in, they threw in the towel.
Secondly, break the bank to sign a proven goal machine. Mbappe is very unlikely to happen without UCL football, which is going to be a big ask of United with Liverpool, City and Arsenal all looking nailed on already for top four.
I’d make Victor Osimhen the marquee signing. He really looks like the complete package, and since he doesn’t have Mbappe’s CV, he might be a bit more realistic if United fail to make the top four.
The bones of a good team are in there (Liverpool fan).
First change I would so as a manager would be to shit the bed as fast as possible so they would fire me and give me a giant payout check
The answer is there copy Arsenal try rebuilding the team with academy players buy out mercenaries players contract, reset it will hurt results in the short term but would improve results over time…
Get all the right staff in place. Behind the scenes, DOF, coaches etc
It’s a job that I would not take. I’d get rid of half of the players in the club at least. The problem is the club is rotten from top to bottom. From management to the overpriced players.
might be biased an Arsenal fan but honestly copy them. move on from Rashford and co. that’s what Arteta did with Auba, Laca and Ozil and we started to fly
Restructure off the pitch and if I don’t get that then I’d walk
Hire moyes as me assistant manager lol
Ask my employer for a 1, 3 and 5 year sporting and commercial strategy. If that fit my values then I’d accept and if it didn’t discuss whether my values could be incorporated. They would be
-
having elite infrastructure - ground, training facilities, culture.
-
promoting from within - players, coaches, back room and boardroom
-
not piling resources to restrict competitors - maintaining bloated player pool
-
ensuring there is value in the product for fans purchasing - so the football is attacking first and winning second
I can go on but what’s the point!
ensuring there is value in the product for fans purchasing - so the football is attacking first and winning second
So you’ll be sacked 6 months in?
You’ve missed the point! Well done that’s a really hard thing to do in a theoretical discussion.
Christ, bit snippy.

Ten Hag, that you?
Yes it’s me, I was having a hard time managing this club so I decided to seek advice from my fellow redditors.
The first thing i change if i manage united? The manager. I’ll resign and look for another job
Nah, you won’t get paid out that way. At least hire people you can delegate to and if they sack you, sit back and watch the pay come in.
I’d make Harry Maguire play forward, sell Onana and buy Livakovic.
I would make an effort to have a good relationship with everyone. I would give a chance to any player to prove, both in training and on the pitch, if they are worthy. Fresh start with everybody, this includes Sancho, if he trains well and plays well he could reignite his career. No second chance for Greenwood though, I require a certain moral integrity. Players like Antony and Rashford might be staying on the bench for a while if they keep performing like they are. Bruno can remain captain but he needs to stop whining like a little schoolgirl for everything that happens on the pitch. If he can’t I’ll simply make the oldest player on the pitch captain until I find a suitable candidate.
I would stop playing players out of their natural position. No more Bruno RW or other bullshit like that. I would address the injury crisis ASAP, there must be something wrong with their training regime that is causing too many injuries.
Players who want to leave in January can do so only for a fair price. New players arriving will have their wage more dependent on caps, performances and other stats.
get rid of moron English players
I don’t think any manager even Pep or Klopp could sort this team over a period, perhaps for season or 2 and the problems will reappear. Issue is the morons responsible for the recruitment of players, the overpriced contracts offered to mediocre players and having a clear structural plan. Man City have installed World class people and look at their recruitment over the years. Even Kevin Phillips won’t be a loss to them and will be sold for a profit after 2 season of fk all playing time and they likely took that into account. Hopefully Ratcliffe sees this and makes a change as a fresh overhaul is required which is why a full takeover would have been the best thing but wasn’t to be.
