I recently acquired a Eufy robot vacuum and seek insights from those with firsthand experience:
- Impressions on the Eufy’s performance – any noteworthy observations?
- While it claims Alexa compatibility, I am interested in its compatibility with other home assistant systems.
- Seeking best practices for integration, particularly contemplating linking it to my ‘leaving home’ routine.
- Can the Eufy handle navigating multiple floors if I move it up or down stairs? or is its functionality confined to a single level?

I’ve had a Eufy Vac for a few years now, and I’ve had it connected to Alexa and Google Home. It has worked well with both, was easy to setup, and no major issues. Mine is a lower model that just bounces around randomly, so if yours is the same, it won’t have any issue with moving floors. Other models map out their area, to be more efficient, so I don’t know how they adapt if you move them.
Overall, I’ve been happy with it, and it keeps my hard floors pretty clean. I’m happy to answer any other questions I can.
amazing! so glad to hear it! This is the one I bought “BoostIQ RoboVac 15C MAX, Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum Cleaner”. I’m not sure if that’s similar to your model. I don’t mind if it bumps around.
have you used it with any alexa routines? - I was thinking of setting it up on my goodbye routine so that it would run whenever we leave the house.
I live in a small townhouse with 3 floors, each floor is quite small but I was hoping to set it loose on the upper floor every so-often. If this is one that maps out the floor plan maybe it will have a button to re-map, or change floors its on… I guess I’ll find out
I have 2 eufy robovacs. The original was a 15C like yours, it is on year 3 ( I think ) of service. I did have to replace the battery, and both brushes a couple of times, but it does a fine job of bouncing around randomly and picking up dust & dog hair.
However, my home environment can be challenging (due to pets), so I moved the 15C upstairs and got an X8 for downstairs. The X8 maps, which means I can mark off areas I want it to skip or give it specific rooms to clean. I haven’t found any way to get that functionality in HA, that’s only in the app. There is a HomeAssistant integration for Eufy vacs, I have been unable to install HACS, so i can’t weigh in on that yet.
For the 15C, you do need to keep the floor clear and I recommend placing the recharge base in a wide-open area at the perimeter of your house. There is a radio signal in the base the vac uses to home, and that can cause some confusion if the base is centrally located and/or near some interior walls. My 15C kept getting stuck in a closet because the base station was on the other side of the closet, so it just homes on the signal and then dies of low battery.
Remember to empty it every day for maximum effectiveness, and blow out the filter occasionally (OUTSIDE!) to get rid of that crud. Once a week, flip it over and clean the roller out, including the ends. Junk gets caught on the axle of the roller and will wear out the roller housing, leading to an unpleasant squeaking noise. Prevent this by removing debris from the end of the axle regularly, and when the squeak does start, apply a small amount of teflon tape (the natural gas version works better than the water version) to the end of the axle.
Having it run while you are away is a great idea, it can be a bit noisy.
I have two Eufy 11s, a large portion of their lineup is near identical minus a few little differences. Mine have a remote and no wifi/app, where as yours has those features.
No maps on these, their random navigation “dumb” robots. Hit the button and it will go till battery gets low and looks for the charger. Works good if you have one bot and multiple stories and don’t want to worry about maps or anything like that, which was my situation.
It will collect a lot of stuff for the first few weeks than it will gradually become less. This is fairly normal with all new robot vacuum owners.
