Hey everyone, I’m a complete noob at this; I’ve done some research but I’m still confused on whether MoCa is the solution to my problem, so here is my situation:
I need to get a wired connection to my PC, but my router is on the other side of the house (2 story townhouse), so I was thinking I could use MoCa to connect to the router via the coaxial cable outlet I have in my room. A couple things:
I think my router is a DOCSIS modem, cause it’s all in one peice (like no router + modem) and connected to the wall via a coaxial cable
I have no idea if the coaxial in my room is even connected to the one downstairs connected to my modem, is there a way to check?
Because I’m only looking for a connection for one device, and MoCa requires 2 devices, is it even possible? Are there better solutions for me? Any help would be appreciated, I just can’t stand running Roblox on 120 ping anymore lol.
Here are some diagrams from GoCoax that show how to use MoCA. Be sure that your splitters are 5-1675mhz to support the MoCA frequencies.
Hope this gives you a visual of how this all works.
