I dont get this, why is nearly every single leading scorer from the new era?

Why is it never like „yeah he played in the 70s and is leading scorer off xyz“

You can check that, i am not talking bs, its hard to find a leading scorer that was in his prime between 1970-90

Why?

    More games in the modern era plus defending was a lot more physical then making it harder to score. Now days defenders can hardly touch an attacking player without giving a foul away and you get a pen for breathing on someone too hard. The pitches were also well worse making it more difficult to score.

      Depending when/what you’re talking about this might not really be true.

      Sure defences were allowed to get away with more physicality, but that doesn’t mean defence was better. Modern defensive schemes are vastly more developed.
