I dont get this, why is nearly every single leading scorer from the new era?

Why is it never like „yeah he played in the 70s and is leading scorer off xyz“

You can check that, i am not talking bs, its hard to find a leading scorer that was in his prime between 1970-90

Why?

    The leading scorer for the Italian national team is gigi riva 1965-1974. And liverpools is ian rush 1980-1987+ 1988-1996. I’m sure there are many more but these are the pre 2000 or in my mind older era ones from the top of my head

      Also the leading scorer of Serie A is from pre-2000, Silvio Piola, who played between 1929 and 1954, with WWII in between (which is even more insane to think about). And the leading scorer of Milan is Gunnar Nordahl who played in the '40 and '50.
