I dont get this, why is nearly every single leading scorer from the new era?

Why is it never like „yeah he played in the 70s and is leading scorer off xyz“

You can check that, i am not talking bs, its hard to find a leading scorer that was in his prime between 1970-90

Why?

    Not really. It’s fairly comparable and if it’s not the same the difference is a handful of games. Man U played 59 games in 76/77 and 54 games in 21/22 for example from that other commenter. It’s kind of a myth really that players play 15 or whatever extra games these days. The game is just more intense and high pace.

      Also worth noting there was no squad rotation back then either. There were defenders that could brutalise you with impunity tho. In the 80s and 90s especially there were some incredible defenders too, way less these days given the focus on technical capability
