I dont get this, why is nearly every single leading scorer from the new era?
Why is it never like „yeah he played in the 70s and is leading scorer off xyz“
You can check that, i am not talking bs, its hard to find a leading scorer that was in his prime between 1970-90

The record for goals in the English top division is 60 goals by Dixie Dean back in 1928 or so…thats certainly not recent.
And the record for most all-time goals at Barca stood for 84 years before Messi broke it a few years ago. Paulinho Alcantara held that for 84 years.
Just Fontaine score 13 goals at the 1958 World Cup and nobody has beaten that.
When you cherry-pick your stats, you can make them tell whatever story you want…
Also, fitness and sports science are things now, but they were not a part of the game for decades…the world changes, the game changes.
