That’s an insane figure. He’d be our highest paid player, no?

I have some real nerve to take issue with it given what the man has done for the club, but Arteta can force this club into big gambles, more than I’m comfortable with. I won’t pretend its easy to say no to him, but this is is reminiscent of Wenger’s level of power and I thought we wanted to avoid that. Wasn’t too long ago we wanted a balanced wage structure either, now what?

I legit have a bad feeling about the Wolves game. They get screwed loads, the refs hate us, seems like a good way to make amends to wolves.

VAR is going to kill Gary O’Neill. Not seen a club get fucked over so much, and so badly as Wolves. Another shambolic performance from the officials

The only major difference is Martinelli. The eye test shows Martinelli has looked our most dangerous recently. I don’t think these particular stat’s show much.

Yeah Martinelli’s output is quite disappointing, nowhere near his goalscoring form of last season

Last year we overperformed in attack, this year we’re underperforming heavily. We’re better than we are doing right now. But also the tactics have changed so it’s not solely on the players suddenly turning into crap.

We don’t move the ball fast enough in the final third right now the way City does against parked busses.

I expected Ødegaard to regress, Jesus has been injured basically all season but the real disappointment is Martinelli’s output. I thought he’d get better numbers this season but we just don’t give him enough opportunities to shoot. Has to do shifts on the touchline with no help from fullback or midfield.

i think the issue is recalibrations not setting in so far. the lads built those 22/23 stats off of teams treating us like 21/22 arsenal

now both saka and martinelli are double manmarked, odegaard is manmarked and in general most teams have 7-8 players in their box at all times except for the one or two viable counters we allow

all this in addition to arteta moving tactically to be more defensive and pensive with the control of game states and having heavy, injury-informed rotation

it all amounts to a very different playstyle. from the data available, saka is the only one who has been effective at readjusting his play to account for all the changing variables. it appears like everyone else is still showing growing pains doing what is appropriate for the here and now to unlock our most effective football

Difference is that the other one is whole season tally while this season is not even half way through. some games players will score a brace or a hattrick. and then suddenly this stats improves massively. We will reach new heights soon. just needs consistent game time and no injuries.

I am seeing so many bitter and disgruntled posts from Liverpool fans because we dared to win our match on Saturday. It’s almost as if it’s only they who have the divine right to challenge City.

Their salt in particular is unmatched.

The way I see it, they’ve won the big trophies under Klopp, but especially now that City won a treble, that Liverpool team is a clear step behind Pep’s City. And if they couldn’t measure up to those teams, they don’t want anyone else to either.

Gonna bet Gary O’Neill gets no charges whatsoever after yesterday’s comments. Not saying he’s wrong whatsoever - in fact he’s completely right and fair play to him for saying it.

But if you can’t charge De Zerbi for saying he hates 80% of all English refs while charging Arteta for saying the exact same as O’Neill more-or-less, what hope does the FA have.

Seen some people think Mikel might get a touchline ban from the FA for his comments - which if he does - is ridiculous. I don’t think he will but if he does, that could very well be the last straw for the Arsenal fanbase in regards to PGMOL and the FA

The difference is really that the decision that Arteta is complaining about was deemed correct by them and the media. Whether that was the case or not is a different question. They’ve admitted their mistakes against Wolves and Brighton. And theyve done so knowing the backlash wont be as bad.

Gary O’Neil can say whatever he wants. They’ve been fucked over for 5 straight games and yet because they’re not a big club media don’t talk about it much and the refs just admit their mistakes and move on because no one cares about Wolves. If any top club experienced what Wolves have in the last five games thats all fans and media would be taking about constantly. In the league not one club has been fucked over as much as Brighton have and by quite a distance. Wolves are probably the first club that’s had it happen five games in a row.

Or Poch full on charging at the referees. I think that’s the worst behaviour out of everyone. How he escaped with no charges is ridiculous.

Tbh Gary’s comments (or the post match interview) didnt really seem that bad. He wasnt outright calling something a “disgrace” or “embarassed”.

Rodri gets all the attention for his cynical fouls and antics, people forget how much of a rat that Bernardo Silva guy is.

He is the epitome of rotational fouling in a Guardiola team that doesn’t get punished enough. At least Rodri is registered on fraud watch and gets the occasional red. Bilva however is just a little rat that manages to scurry away from punishment from the refs.

Sadly, I don’t think we’re gonna see the best of either Raya or Ramsdale whilst the other is still at the club. For all of Arteta’s excellence, I don’t think he’s handled this very well publicly.

Privately, it might a completely different story admittedly, but he’s the one who created this story both via his decisions and words.

Feel sorry for both keepers to be fair

You’ll get downvoted for saying this, but I agree. Nothing wrong with deciding to pick one player over another but what he said publicly created unnecessary noise.

Also, saying he probably could have handled it better is not the same as saying he handled it terribly, but some people see it as the same thing.

I don’t think any of Raya’s mistakes had anything to do with Ramsdale. Just look at the nature of them. I actually don’t think Raya is worried about Ramsdale at all. He probably feels assured in his spot and why wouldn’t he?
