I don’t know much about networks and wifi, but I am trying to understand how my home internet is set up. Everything is working fine, I am looking into buying new wifi pods (potentially the google mesh network stuff) instead of leasing them from my isp.

I have fiber internet from Midco and I have attached my best understanding of what’s going on. My biggest confusion is that on the switch there are 4 cables plugged in. I am guessing 1 is an input and 2 go to my other ethernet ports in my house. What are the 4 cables into my switch and what would I need to get to replace the isp wifi pods. Thank you.

If you meant to attach a photo, it did not come through.

Generally the benefit of the mesh systems is that you plug one module directly into your router and the others will connect wirelessly to that one to extend your coverage. So you don’t need to worry about anything except a wall outlet for power for the remote modules.

Without photos it’s impossible to say what all might be hooked up to your router. How many wifi pods do you have currently, and do they all have an ethernet connection to your router, or just one?

Yeah, looks like the image that you tried to include never made in onto your post.
