I don’t watch Real Madrid too often. Is he scoring loads because they haven’t got much of a striker right now? Is it an extreme purple patch? Or is he simply this good and the scoring rate is likely to continue? His rate was significantly lower at Dortmund (though still very good for his position) after all.
As a Madrid fan, his goalscoring record is definitely unusual and I expect it to drop after a bit, simply because it’s impossible to maintain 1 goal/game from midfield. However, I also expect him to consistently score 15-20 goals/season for Real Madrid in future seasons, because his finishing, positioning, technique, and game IQ is absolutely elite.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see 25-30 out of him with his game sense combined with the overall team quality. As long as there are those who can give service, he’ll keep making those brilliant runs.
That’s the thing, he’s occupying the same spaces as a striker oftentimes. He’s not playing as a CM.
His goal scoring ratio entirely depends on where Madrid wants him to play.
He’s way more dynamic than Lampard ever was but Lampard was consistently getting 10-20 a season with what I’m guessing would have been a similar heat map. No reason Bellingham can’t continue it for his career. His biggest enemy will be burnout.
Lampard did take lots of penalties too, worth remembering. A crazy stat to me is that Odegaard got more non-penalty goals in the premier league last season than Lampard ever got in a single season.
