magandang umaga mga kalemmy. just left a party and i am so glad that the karaoke was hogged by the younger people. i was afraid that the younger generation is shying away from this very Filipino/East Asian/Southeast Asian pastime because it is deemed uncool. but the way they sang with gusto assures me that this will stay on as an important part of our culture. karaoke may be a nuisance to some (to mine as well sometimes) but i consider it as a testament to our love for music, fellowship, and having a good time.
cheers!
Karaoke will be one of the last things to die out in this country, that’s my opinion. Filipinos love to sing, even the ones who are bad at it.
It’s also one of the few options of socialization for those who don’t drink. Good icebreaker too if you’re introverted.
It’s something both sober and drunk people can enjoy for sure
