When you follow a group/community in Lemmy you see all of the posts and replies made in that group (via automatic boosts), which can quickly clutter up your feed. I can’t find a simple way to only show new posts and not all the replies. So now I mainly browse Lemmy on its own instance page and only drop into Mastodon to make replies and upvotes.
This is why I don’t consider this a working bridge yet. It’s so out of the Mastodon format it’s disturbing the browsing experience. And with the reported disinterest from Mastodon… I’ve seen what “Eventually” means.
No, let’s flip it upside down and have Lemmy be able to subscribe to Mastodon users. Just look at how it works with the KBIN style of actor/group browsing. Very nice. Look at the Peertube integration, spotty as the federation may be channels are still presented absolutely flawlessly on this platform.
Others do what Mastodon’t.
