Recently there has been an Incident on lemmy.world which affects other Lemmy Instances as well. Some malicious users or bots posted illegal material (CSAM) to the lemmy.world shitposting community. The admins have responded quickly by closing the community and locking registrations to lemmy.world to application forms only with manual approval.

Admins of lemmy instances and people self-hosting lemmy Instances are encouraged to clear the pictrs cache from 24 hours to clear out content that may be cached there.
