We launched a lemmy site for r/futurology about a week ago -

So far, the majority of people who have subscribed and begun to post and comment on it are from elsewhere in the fediverse, not migrants from the subreddit. I’ve pinned a post as an announcement to the top of the subreddit, but it’s got less traction than they normally do, for lesser subreddit announcements. I’m wondering if part of the problem is the term ‘fediverse’ in the announcement title? Do most Reddit users even recognize the term? Is there a better way to describe what is going on?
