Hey guys so I’ve been playing some games from the last 2 years and noticed that performance between my laptop and PC is unacceptably different. My PC with a 3080ti is performing terribly vs when I load the same game up on my laptop with a 3060. Overall performance from load times to consistent frame rates is better on my laptop, and after going into the nvidia control panel to match all the settings on my pc to my laptop, nothing changed.

PC----

GPU: 3080ti

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x 6 core, 3.79GHz

16GB RAM

Windows 10 education 64-bit

Playing at 2560x1600 windowed 60Hz, 60fps all settings on max (on a 4k tv)

Laptop----

GPU: 3060 laptop GPU

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX 3.3GHz

16GB RAM

Windows 10 home 64-bit

Playing a 1920x1080 fullscreen 144Hz, 60fps all setting on max (1080p display)

The main thing I notice is that textures take along time to load on my PC so everything looks smooth and undetailed, some objects are even invisible for a few seconds then pop in, many objects will simply not be present like entire buildings or clutter and foliage. My laptop loads everything at full detail instantly. I’ve never seen anything less than full quality on my laptop.

TL;DR - 3060 laptop outperforms 3080ti pc.
