      only if the dev/publisher/whoever-responsible offers the different versions as available branches in the game’s properties. Some do, most don’t.

            They could just make the update reversible, many mods probably don’t get updated and are dead now. And its basically for nothing. Just because of a “next gen” update that doesn’t do anything mods didn’t do better before.
