San Francisco is like if you tried to mash Houston with New York, its somehow lawless and meticulously arbitrary in all ways including enforcement. I understand some of the motivations, but how do people break the law continuously for 30 years? And everybody just respects it? Cones never took off in NY because someone will literally deliver the shredded cones to your door to prove a point.

I live in neither of these cities, but still in a city on a public street. On multiple occasions I’ve moved a cone to park, seen someone come out of the cone owners house, just locked eyes as I walked into my house with their cone, and taken that shit out to the garbage truck in the alley on trash day. It’s probably been 15 cones over about 10 years of living in this house. It’s typically renters, once it was an AirBnB renter next door, which completely boggled my mind. Who the fuck travels with a traffic cone like what the fuck?
